Federer Vs. Nadal

Let’s put Federer ~ Nadal argument to rest.
Here is why: Federer has a losing head-to-head record with Nadal 7-13. If you break it up:
2 – 9 (Clay): The winner - Nadal, he can clearly claim the King of clay title
2 - 1 (Grass): The winner - Federer
3 – 3 (hard court): Tied

The overall starts is skewed because, Federer has been more consistent in all courts and made it to the finals of many clay tournaments where he happened to meet Nadal, the King of clay. If Federer was a sucker of a clay player, then the head-to-head could have read 5-4 Federer. Nadal has not been that consistent in other courts. He hasn’t made the finals of US Open even once.

So a little respect here, Federer has dominated this game for 5-6 years and amassed an unprecedented 15 grand slams in 6 years (Pistol Pete took 12 years to win his 14). So, he surely is amongst the greatest of all time and Nadal doesn’t figure there. At least, not yet. Let’s wait and see how long Nadal takes to win his 15, if at all he ever wins those many! I like Nadal, but it’s unfair to not give Federer his due because he lost to Nadal in some crunch matches. Nadal has many more miles to go before he can even be considered to be compared with Federer, one of the greatest sportsperson ever.
